I’ve shared my home with cats for as long as I can remember: kittens raised from a few weeks old, nervous rescues who took months to trust me, and old cats I’ve nursed through kidney disease and arthritis right to the end. I’m not a vet. I’m the person who has sat on the bathroom floor at 2am wondering whether what I was seeing was normal or an emergency.

Every time, I found the same thing: plenty of clinical information about cats, and almost nothing that joined it up into honest, practical help for an owner who just wants to do right by their cat. The good advice was scattered, contradictory, or buried under things people were trying to sell me.

So I built Cats Guide, the resource I wish I’d had. I write from years of living with cats and from talking with other owners, and every article is reviewed by a veterinary surgeon so the facts stay accurate. I’m an owner, not a clinician; my job is to make this clear and useful, and to point you to your own vet whenever your cat needs one.
