Terms of Use

Last updated: June 19, 2026

These are the simple ground rules for using Cats Guide. By browsing the site, you’re agreeing to them, along with our Privacy Policy. Nothing here is meant to be scary, it’s just the bit that keeps everyone on the same page.

Using Cats Guide

You’re welcome to read, share, and enjoy Cats Guide for your own personal, non-commercial use. We just ask that you use it in good faith and within the law. If any part of these terms doesn’t sit right with you, the simplest thing is not to use the site.

Our content is for information, not veterinary advice

Everything here is general cat-care information, written to be friendly and useful, and offered “as is”. It is not veterinary advice and can’t replace a proper look from your own vet, who knows your cat. Please read our Veterinary Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms. If you email us about your cat, we’ll read it kindly, but we’re not your vet and can’t advise on your individual animal. For anything urgent, contact a vet straight away rather than waiting on an email from us.

Unless we say otherwise, the words and images on Cats Guide belong to us and are protected by copyright. You’re very welcome to link to our pages and quote a short excerpt with clear credit back to us. Please don’t copy, republish, or redistribute large chunks without asking us first.

Please don’t

To keep the site working well for every cat lover who visits, please don’t:

  • try to disrupt, break, or overload the site;
  • scrape it with automated tools that hammer the server; or
  • use it for anything unlawful or to harm others.

It’s a low-stakes pet site, so common courtesy covers almost all of this.

We sometimes link out to other websites for reference or further reading. We don’t run those sites and can’t vouch for their content, accuracy, or privacy habits, so following an external link is at your own risk.

No warranties and liability

We put real care into keeping our cat-care information accurate and current, but we can’t promise it’s complete, error-free, or right for your particular situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, Cats Guide isn’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. When in doubt about your cat, your vet is the one to trust.

Changes

We may tweak these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and continuing to use the site means you’re happy with it.
