We are committed to accurate, useful, and clearly-sourced information about caring for cats. This page explains how we work.

How articles are created

Articles are researched and written using authoritative sources, such as the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), the Cornell Feline Health Center, International Cat Care, and the ASPCA, which we cite at the foot of every article.

Veterinary review

Articles covering health, nutrition, and other clinical topics are reviewed by a veterinary surgeon before publication. Reviewed articles display the reviewer’s name, credentials, and the date of review. Our current reviewer is Dr Sarah Whitfield, BVSc MRCVS.

Keeping content current

We review published articles periodically and update them as veterinary guidance changes. Each article shows its publication date and, where applicable, when it was last updated or reviewed.
